Hi Dave,
I ordered a set of castings for the Bettendorf trucks last year and would like to buy a brake rigging kit if they are available. I would also like to have a set of bronze bearings and two extra wheel castings. Also did you get the brake shoes done for this. Please let me know what cost is with shipping please.

Odd question. I won't need safety valves for several years, as my engine is still a ways away. Can you purchase them and store them, or will they freeze/rust/lock up over time?

One of the things I hear most often at train meets is "I'm not ready for them yet." Then I usually get a call when I don't have what they need in stock and the customer is in a pinch to finish the locomotive before a meet.
Buy what you're going to need when it's available if you can, and it's more useful to you sitting on your shelf than the suppliers.

I have practiced that advice with great success.
Safety valves were stored for 6 years before used. Work fine, all the time.

You should always get things when they become available. as for storing them Freeze? no way just spray some WD40 on them will be perfect
