K-4 Boiler Mounted
K-4 Boiler Mounted
I recently got the boiler mounted on my K-4. The boiler was built by Mercer Locomotive Shop. I have started making and attaching the parts for the detailed boiler jacket. I am following processes illustrated by others on this site who have applied a detailed jacket. I anticipate the jacket will require several months to complete but the goal is to complete the jacket, grates, whistle, and ash pan by the end of the year.
Re: K-4 Boiler Mounted
That is a good-looking K-4.
Great start on the copper detailed back-head. I will enjoy watching your progress.
I really had fun making the back head for my Mikado. It was a very satisfying project.
Same for you I hope.
