"BB injector???

Post by DianneB »

Does anyone recognise this (partly disassembled) injector? Is it marked with back-to-back letter B and on the flat over the overflow port it has the numbers "95 72". I'd like to get it working but have No information on it.

Thanks for any help!

Double B designs, from the UK.
I think Terry Baxter made them, now in other hands.

Are the steam and delivery cones still present? Usually the union nuts holds these into the injector body. This body, though, looks a bit different from what I am used to seeing. This injector may simply have to be replaced.

The steam cone is there and the delivery cone is present but I can't figure out how to get the delivery cone out to check the combining cone. It looks like a male nub on the bottom of the delivery cone has a male thread to pull the cone but it is recessed and I can't get at it to check the diameter and TPI of the threads. I was hoping someone knows the details of these.

The threads are most likely BA threads and no US machine screw will fit it.
Why don't you just install it and see if it works. The threaded ends will probably be BA threads also.

BA threads are mostly used for fasteners. You will usually find ME threads on connectors and fittings, like 5/16"-32 and 3/8"-32.

I found the successor to Double B Designs, RA Barker Engineering.

The injector didn't work. I cleared a piece of debris from the deliver come but hoped to remove the combiner cone to clean that part as well before trying it again.
