Looking for Quarter Scale Donkey plans
Can anyone point me in the direction of any quarter scale donkey drawings? Would like to find a model of a larger one (as opposed to doubling the Harris design).

John,
I'd suspect that you have to decide what size of donkey you want, then work backwards from that. Because a 1/4th scale model of a big one is going to be a LOT bigger than a 1/4 scale model of a small one...
There are at least 2 full sized around here- one in Sooke, one at SHAS (Vancouver Island Model Engineers), and I would suspect several at BC Forestry Museum in Duncan.
(kind of like the difference between a 0-4-0 and a 4-8-8-4...)

John-
Just double the Harris plans. They are a credible set of plans for an American steam donkey. There is a seller on eBay who offers a cast iron cylinder and flywheel that may be suitable for this size.

Everyone going to the triennial should run up the road to the logging museum. Lots of good stuff there.

More dreaming than doing. As I have been on the road continuously since December of 16. Have made a few parts, but nothing consequential. I am being quite accomplished at collecting cast iron...
