is anyone making these?

Post by JohnHudak »

Hi All, Before I make a hand full of these cut lever brackets, does anyone know of a supplier who has already made them? I searched Shapeways and couldn't find anything, and the ones from PSC aren't right.. Thanks.. John

Harry, When you say drawing up, will you be sending them to Shapeways, of scratchbuilding them yourself?

I have since sold my locomotive and can't remember if I had used Railroad Supply brackets, but I know brackets are available. Here's some pics on the Fitchburg Northern Builders Group on Facebook:

John,
I found a works drawing for a GWR lift ring bracket, which is vaguely similar to the photos. I'm now toying with proportions so that the brackets won't be over or under-sized for my tanks. At first I planned to fabricate the four I need, and may still, but lately I thought I might make a pattern and have them L/W cast by a friend.

Oops - Never mind. I'm working on TANK lift brackets. They're still vaguely similar but perhaps larger and heavier.

Precison Steel Car has them for 1.25 each.

Part number L-006. Look under this link http://www.precisionsteelcar.com/details_loco.html

Scroll down to "Other Parts".

Can't beat the price.
