Does anybody have a cad drawing or even a 3d model of a 1" scale tie?
Thank you,
Mike
cad drawing of a 1" scale tie?
Re: cad drawing of a 1" scale tie?
Should not be hard to get drawn. At LALS our ties are 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 10" if you are wondering. Others just use a 2 x 4 x 10.

Re: cad drawing of a 1" scale tie?
Are those dimensions for 1.5" scale? If so, what would the dimensions be for 1" scale?
Thank you!

Those dimensions are for the 1” track. The big boys use 2x4x14 ties. All of our materials are plastic ties.

Re: cad drawing of a 1" scale tie?
Still haven't gotten an answer to your question? Typical real life tie dimensions: 7" D x 8" W x 8.5' L. Depending on the RR, tie dimensions might vary from what was considered the "standard tie dimension". Depth and width were pretty much dictated by what the mechanical tampers could handle.
I will add...if you're looking to construct a display track, then by all means you can scale the tie dimensions. If you're looking to build an outdoor RR...DO NOT use scale the tie dimensions. You'll need MORE tie material in the ballast to prevent both horizontal and vertical track movement. Just sayin'...Hope that helps. Carl B.
