Howdy yall,
I recently picked up a project that was started by al Shelly as I have been told. It included a rolling chassis, cylinders (with no slide valves), side rods, pieces to the eccentrics and the springing. Al I guess was not going to equalize the suspense but just through some springs the box. Was wondering if maybe any of yall would know of were could be drawings or if anyone knows anything on it. I know of one drawing that is the cylinder. Jason van horn has it which I’ll be getting in contact with to see what else he has. Oh one more thing. I also will be picking up the smoke box for it also. This is not my first locomotive either. So machining and fabricating I know how. Just was seeing anyone may know of someone who has more info on it.
Thank you!

A couple of notes. This is not a Tom Artzberger C21. A good build site for these is Steve Nelson's at tsmtrains.com.
There are two complications I see. One is the coupled wheelbase looks evenly spaced. On the original the leading and trailing wheels nearly touched the middle four which were spaced out for the valve gear. The other is the rear frame is not thinned where it passes around the firebox. You will have to adapt the design to suit this.
The original Baldwin erection drawing is available online at the SMU digital collections (Railroads - Photographs, Manuscripts and Imprints Colorado Fuel & Iron, Locomotives 101 and 102, Erecting Card Drawing No. 3160)
A really good set of drawings is Jeff Smiths C25 available from Jeff Smith's Branchlineproducts. I would recommend these. Not quite the same locomotive but close enough for what you have. I have a set and they are the best live steam locomotive drawings I have ever seen. And at a reasonable price.

Yes yes. I’m great friends with Steve and Jeff. I did realize that the wheel spacing is off. The journal spacing between is 6 1/2 even through out. I was going to pick up Jeff’s book at train mountain while we were there for the triennial. I did locate one cylinder drawing. Once I get that I should be able to see what prints they are. Even if there is no drawings it is not impossible. I have almost got the chassis made in cad and will soon be working on valve gear shortly. Thank you for the response!
