Here is the latest from the old school shop (I kind of like that phrase).
These are the boiler flanges that I was making on the video. Second operation the “O” ring groove completed and the bolt holes drilled.
I am using a special stud with a knurled end and large head on them. They are 4-40 thread. I reduced them from 5-40 tapped holes. The sample that I made is working well.
These studs press in to a .111 hole and lock in place enough to hold it while tightening up the six nuts.
BTW that is two hours work no special tooling or fixture no programming on the computer just the drill press.
