Printer patterns
Printer patterns
3D printed some driver patterns for one of my friends in our club for a N & W J Class he is just starting the build of. Used about all of the xy capacity of my printer. A little clean up and sanding they should be ready to mount to match plate.

Re: Printer patterns
Nice work Rick.
Here is a heavy driver for a J1 Hudson printed on a low-resolution 3D printer. I developed the 3D model in Fusion360. It features an IBLS wheel profile. My plan is to carve this wheel out of a slug of cast iron on a Haas vertical milling center.

Re: Printer patterns
Have to just love 3d printing for making patterns for casting
Re: Printer patterns
I did a group of 9 castings a couple of years ago made from 3D prints. Using investment casting, "lost wax", they can be made directly from the 3D print without moulding - it lowers the cost considerably if you don't mind printing the number of parts you need.
