Golden Gate Live Steamers - 2018 Fall Meet

Post by Donhost4449 » Thu Sep 27, 2018 5:29 pm

The boys and I visited Golden Gate Live Steamers in Tilden Park for their Fall Meet on September 23, 2018. They spent a lot of time operating John Bailie's heavily modified "Chloe" #3 which is a coal-fired 7.5" gauge (2.5" scale) locomotive. There were a number of other trains operating throughout the day, and we were also able to enjoy some time at the Redwood Valley Railway, a 15" gauge railroad located next to GGLS. Operations Manager Grant Smith gave us the grand tour of RVR backshop facilities, and Engineer Johnathon Kruger gave both Eli & Paul a "cab ride" on the #7. A fun day!
