A few years ago, I attended a big show at a farm and tractor museum. A local Fie Department brought their horse-drawn vertical boilered steam pumper. Boy, was it pretty!
They drew a big crowd when they started pumping water about 100 feet! As I got closer, I could not discern a water level on the gauge glass. I walked up and just pointed to it to get their attention, then walked quickly away.
As I looked back over my shoulder, they were using a garden rake to yank the fire out onto the ground!
