Armistice Day, November, 2018
by John McCrae, May 1915
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

War does not favor Victor nor Vanquished. It only makes for hallowed ground and sacred memories.
A tribute to those that risked all before us. All gave some, and some gave all.

We have enough youth, how about a fountain of Smart. My computer beat me at chess, but not kickboxing
It is not getting caught in the rain, its learning to dance in it. People saying good morning, should have to prove it.

"The war to end all wars."
Sadly, not only were the Western European rivalries not resolved, but the concept of the "military-industrial" complex was not yet formulated. Hitler and the German industrialists understood this long before Eisenhower tried to bring our attention to it.
Unfortunately, we didn't listen...
