An eBay seller has listed a couple dozen great photos taken at Lester Friend's Danvers track about 1939. I recognize Lester in some of the photos. If you recognize anyone else please let us know.

Re: 1939 Danvers
#3 is 5290 Hudson built by Mr. Gene Stevens from Norway, Paris, Maine. This engine was finished in 1938 and is in Bill Yoder`s roaster. I own this engine 2018. Remember this track was just finished the year before 1938. There is another photo of a Stevens engine 2-4-0 funny looking, with Gene @ the throttle. The 5290 Hudson is not being driven by Gene. I see Lester friend running his 4-6-4-T B&A Tanker. He was in a couple of other shots in the background. Most of the fellows in these shots would be considered giants in the L.S. hobby. Lester Friend, Gene Stevens, Ed Lever, Norm Steele, Harry Austin and many others. I have rescued 2 maybe 3 Gene Stevens built 3/4 " locomotives. will keep looking and see what else, or who else I can identify.

I`m sure there are others here in the N.E. area that will be able to add information to these photo`s. John K. of Friends Models fame, Elm 53 of Worcestershire. Just to name a few.

Re: 1939 Danvers
I have a stack of large format negatives that Jim Stuart took in / around the track after WWII up until the mid to early 50's.
If I scan them...does anyone have a place where they can be posted that won't rely on my personal longevity to maintain?

Too many things going on to bother listing them.

Re: 1939 Danvers
I would be happy to post them on the IBLS website.
Longevity is a big issue, especially on the Internet. Printed copies of old live steam publications are still available and can be found on eBay, etc. But when a website goes down you are lucky if some of it is preserved on Archive.com.
The IBLS website has the same issue. What happens when I am gone? I hope that one or more people will step up to be the next IBLS Secretary and keep the website live, which has over 700 articles.
