Scott,
My understanding is that when the engine and tender are back on the rails, and they might be back on the rails now, they'll be rolled into a temporary shed and the brake systems gone through and made DOT certifiable. Once that's done the transfer will be made over Corman, CSX, and TN Central rails and I wouldn't expect that move to take place until early Spring.

I was more correct than I knew. #576 was rolling on active rails by Monday afternoon.

March 10th . . . #576 pausing during its main rods-off tow across town to its final location for rebuilding. It spent most of the previous day on public display at Union Station Nashville.
The information feed has gone relatively quiet for the moment as preparations for the major rebuild get going in earnest. Progress now will depend upon funding and manpower.
