Cylinder drain cocks?

Post by DianneB »

Does anyone recognize this style of steam-operated drain cocks? Looks like something I'd be interested in for my 1.5 American.

I saw them on a Golden Gate video from fall of 2017.

I could make some guesses on the internals but drawings would be handy!

I have several designs of steam operated ones but they don't blow out the side like that.

Godshall makes one style.

Features
NEW!! As of the summer of 2013 these units will be lost wax cast
Fully test operated on steam
Proportionally modeled on an Oakadee cylinder drain cock
Dimensions : Length 1.25" , maximum body diameter 1/2"
1/8-56 MTP male thread on control line
1/8-27 NPT or 5/16-27 MTP connection size available
One piece shuttle valve design

The drain cocks are scaled from prototype Oakadee drain cocks and operate the same. Steam pressure from a cab valve will close the drain cocks. When the control valve is closed, steam pressure from the cylinders will open the drain cocks. All valves are reversible to provide easy mounting on your locomotive. Banjo bolts that attach the bodies to the cylinder are 1/8-27 NPT or 5/16-27 MTP thread. Threads on the steam control line are 1/8-56 MTP.
