Friends Models 1" line of engines
Group,
The Little Engines 1" scale thread made me want to let those of you who don't know, that Friends Models has two 1" scale steam castings kits available, an American and a Ten Wheeler. Also in the product line are a 1" Atlantic and Pacific; they are not available yet as castings sections but individual parts such as domes, stacks, trucks, wheels, etc. are available if you desire, by custom-order.
There have been some recent changes and up-dates on the Friends web site, they can be seen at the yellow "New!" highlights/icons, at the top of www.friendsmodels.com. Links to pages that describe why Friends went out of business in 1979, what happened in the years it was closed, and what it took to reopen it, have been posted.
Lots of new stuff is linked at the top of the page, and, lots of stuff is in development that will soon be announced.
Thank you for listening.
Sincerely,
-John K.

A little locomotive with 4 wheels on the track is a lot more fun
than a 1/2 finished one with 16 wheels on the bench!

Some of us are actually building in 1" and using John's castings.
The drivers are from Dinky, the bogies from a Shay (correct? - help me out John).
forgive the clutter, i do not have a dedicated photography area

Too many things going on to bother listing them.
Re: Friends Models 1" line of engines
What type of valve gear is that Bill?

It uses the 0-4-0T "Dinky" drivers, yes. And 3/4" scale "New Shay" wheels are on the pilot.Bill Shields wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2019 5:09 pm Some of us are actually building in 1" and using John's castings.
