Big Day on the SR&CL
Sunday, March 24, was a Big Day on the Sandy Ridge & Clear Lake Ry.!
We fired up and ran #10 for the first time in 2 years.
I replaced the throttle and the water glass. The work itself didn't take that long - the problem was finding time to go down there.
The track is 2 1/2 hours from home, so I couldn't just pop over after work.
But she is back together and running!

No, this is the locomotive built by me in Freeland, Michigan.
No. 7 was built by Jim Small of Brampton, Ontario.
Jim recently passed away.

This is one railroad I'd really like to see!
Great prototype and great adaptation preserving the flavor of the full sized 2' gauge.
Wonderful work!

Re: Big Day on the SR&CL
Thanks for corrections, Marty. Confused both the home town and the first name of the builder. Wow, almost thirty years have passed since I pulled the throttle of Jim's almost finished Lucky7 on a track north of Toronto. Still remember how neat it felt and the felling of the suspension working a track. Quite a change for a guy used to 3.5" gauge engines! Sorry to hear he recently pased away.
