Thought I’d share a project I did for a customer.
These are 80” Boxpok drivers modeled from GS-4 drawings, to be used on a 1” Canadian National K-5a Hudson. At one point in their life they had Boxpok drivers, which is what my customer wanted to model.
100% machined from solid discs of cold rolled steel. No castings whatsoever. After welding in the inserts, the drivers were broached, sand blasted, and the tires finished on the lathe. Welding caused the tire to warp about .005-01”, so finishing was necessary.
Enjoy

Absolutely stunning!

Its very cool to see a box spoke driver in this scale that actually emulates the undercut cavities like the prototype.

Beautiful work, thanks for showing some of the process. It's always good to hear of a new engine being built in 1" scale.

Anthony, those are awesome! A lot of work even with CNC. Have you considered making a pattern and making castings for them? I am sure more people would be interested in those drivers.
