Like any project, things get better with patience and persistence....
Over the 4th July week Rodney, Jeff, Ron and myself worked diligently on the logging operation at CSME. This year the logging company took lease of the Monteagle Valley and the abandoned industry spur that was used to build the bridge as our logging operation. The equipment included one shay, one donkey, a trio of log cars and all the usual tack/cables/pulleys etc...
We upped our game as we now have cabling for 100' (50' in 2018) and set up the rigging for a Tight Skyline / Northbend Double block purchase. See image. This is a way of creating a verticle lift by manipulating the mainline and haulback line.
Ron spotted the water buffalo for the donkey and was the mainline connection to haul logs to Cumberland.
The logging company is looking for more employees and equipment. If you want to join us, drop me an email.

You need to come down to Ridge Live Steamers and work the logging branch.

Naaa...... We have trees and mountains up here.
Post some pictures of the logging branch at Ridge.
We'll probably setup again during the fall meet. Depends on donkey & shay availability... Always room for more. Drop me an email if you want to be notified.

Don't know if the donkey can handle something that big. It is on the small side. We did manage to put both the shay and donkey in the shop for repairs.
