Larry Fisher

Post by Harlock »

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but Larry Fisher of Fisher Detail Foundry has been hospitalized with Stage IV cancer, which came on suddenly and spread within a matter of weeks. He is currently receiving treatment and is in a lot of pain. A friend of theirs has set up a GoFundMe to cover medical and other expenses. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-larry-f ... -iv-cancer I Hope it's OK to post a GoFundMe link here. Larry is a supremely talented and generous person and an outstanding contributor to this hobby and right now he and his devoted wife Leone need your prayers and help. Larry and Leone are good friends and I'm heartbroken by this sudden turn of events. Please keep them in your thoughts.

My condolences to his family! I always enjoyed seeing his work and was looking forward to many of the beautiful pieces of locomotive jewelry he was developing. He will be missed

Very sad to hear. We’ve lost a true, old world craftsman.

For those of us in the SoCal area...

I traded messages with the person running the GoFundMe page for Larry and Leone. I'm informed that there will be a memorial service at some point...likely in the new year but no information is currently available.

I'll certainly inform this board of anything I hear.
