Post by livesteamwagons »

Hi

I'm having some issue finding anyone that sells NA loco lamps / caboose markers
I can find them for my UK models with no issue (Blackgates have them) but I cannot find any for my American stuff

Any help would be awesome

I have castings available for north american style engine marker lamps and caboose markers (two different styles) for 3/4" scale 3.5" gauge engines.

Castings were produced late last year however have not been marketed because I do not have a source for lenses to go with them as of this writing.

The master patterns were made many years ago by Don Ritchie of DMS in conjunction with Bill Van Brocklin.

These little gems are no longer available in 3/4 " anywhere, SO get them while you can. Good advise from an old phart of the Highline. I have two on "WEE ANGUS" and a Hudak Headlight, they look great.

A little locomotive with 4 wheels on the track is a lot more fun
than a 1/2 finished one with 16 wheels on the bench!

Thanks Chris, thanks to a lead from someone else on Chaski I now have "lenses" ordered and on the way that I think will work great. We will see what they look like in a week or two when they arrive.

I use G scale caboose marker lamps. Scalewise, they are a bit smaller than a true 3/4" scale marker. I bought mine at a train show last year so in today's world, you may have to look at E bay. They even come with the lenses and holder.

Check on the Shapeways.com store site. They have some nice looking caboose marker lights in 3/4” scale. Also some Pyle classification lights.

The Van Brocklin style 3/4" Marker Lights are now available with "lenses."

They will be shipped with a pair of red, green, amber and clear lenses.

A chucking spigot was included in the master pattern design so that the mounting stud can be turned and machined in the lathe - if desired.

Pricing will be $25 per pair (either style engine or caboose) plus shipping (should be a couple of bucks via USPS flat rate envelope.)
