I never knew that 1. you could adjust a petticoat and 2. that it would make a difference. Wow, the things you learn.

Bill, the big stationary boilers I have worked with had a blowdown valve at each corner of the mudring. This is the correct way it should be done, but on our little boilers, it is sometimes hard to even find a place for one blowdown. On my CP173, for example, I only found ONE place where there was room for a blow down and there was room there only because the valve eccentrics kept the front drive axle away from the firebox a little bit.
