WE don't get much snow here but one of these times I hope to drag out the steamer and run it. Have had the Diesel out twice in the snow and its fun. The second time the snow was about six inches in places, need to make a plow, I only had a piece of plywood clamped to the front of the Diesel to scrape the rails, at times the block of snow in front of the loco was about four feet long before it would slide of the side of the track.

I am putting together a Christmas issue of our club electronic newsletter. Would anybody mind if I put some of these pictures into the newsletter??
They look like they belong at Christmas time!

Anybody have any other pictures that make you think of Christmas?

Thanks,
Mike

If you will indulge me for a minute, I'm posting some snow pix as requested, but they are of diesels and not steamers. They were taken at a past Polar Bear Meet at Train Mountain, Chiloquin, Oregon. To add to what Dean has already posted TM made special arrangements to allow the steamers to be parked indoors at night for obvious reasons. :D Russ

Some winter running of steam locomotives.

A bit bigger than my normal, but it was certainly fun. I spent a week at Salt Lake City in 2002 working for the Heber, shuttling passengers around. Some of my pics are at:
