Bearings and Seals

Post by mjahn »

Hey Everybody!

I need to order some bearings and oil seals for my pilot truck and I can't find them on McMaster. Ive looked at the corporate sites (SKF and Timken) and they aren't leading me to any distributors. So, does anyone know a trustworthy seller of the following items:

Torrington B-1616 bearings (now manufactured by Timken)

CR #9876 Oil Seals (now manufactured by SKF)

Thanks!

Mattaniah,

Have you tried Motion Industries? Link is: http://www.motionindustries.com/motion3 ... index.html

A little pricey, :!: but you might find what you are looking for....

try this site:
http://www.vxb.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?

they don't show your # but you can plug in your size and see what they have. you may be looking for an obsolete part and have to substitute.

I do have a local bearing guy but he's the only shop for 40 miles... so I'd like to at least check his prices to make sure im not getting taken advantage of. I know the local steel shop marks up because of the monopoly.

Hi, Have you tried Bearings Incorporated? They are online and have stores in lots of larger industrial cities. Just google them, they come in about three from the top. I have been buying bearings and seals from them for years, fair prices, good service and you can order online. Hope this helps. Best regards, Mike (hptwin)

Try Purvis bearings, they are in most large cities and a lot of agricultural cities as well.

Bearing and seals are usually pretty generic. Look for the same size, not Manufacturer.
I know McMasters has a bearing that is a 1616 size. That is a 3/4 shaft, 3/4 long bearing. That B-1616 is a roller bearing part number, right? Do not forget to harden the shaft or use a sleeve insert.
Bearing Inc has been bought out by Applied Industrial, at least in Oregon and Washington.

Hey Matt,

Try Applied Industrial Technologies. 301 663 6620 Dave Nycum or Lou in the office. I've bought tons of bearings from them and they are very knowlegable and helpful. They'll get you just what sizes you need.

Hi,

B-1616 is a standard full complement needle bearing for a 1" shaft and the bearing is 1" long. I went looking for similar B-1110 bearings before Christmas & I found that Torrington is now part of Koyo. I got my bearings through Canadian Bearings & I went and picked them up at Koyo in Mississauga because I was in a hurry. If I remember right, I think they cost about $10.00 each. I also got a catalog from Koyo which has both Koyo & Torrington on the cover. Nice catalog & still better than trying to find what you want on line although I am impressed by the resources at your fingertips.

These are industry standard bearings and should be available through any commercial bearing supply house.

Hope this helps,
