A TRIP TO THE PA STATE RR MUSEUM

Post by Trainman4602 »

Today my friend Pete Bella and I took a trip out to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania In Strasburg Pa.

This museum, without a doubt, is one of the finest in the country. I’m fortunate to live only one and one-half hours from there. I visit it often. They are now in the process of building a round house to house the larger locomotives such as the K4 and the M1b and Nickel Plate Berk.

Just recently they removed the 460 which is also known as the Lindbergh Atlantic. The museum is restoring it for static display.

I spent the better part of an hour making this video. I only covered a small part of the exhibits. I’ll need to return and make several more parts to be able to cover it fully.

Enjoy the video

Hey, our 30th was spent at Train Mountain. The trick is to schedule the trip such that the special day comes in the middle. Then when you announce the trip and the departure date, it won't register with her until after you've left. (:>
Just be sure to find a nice restaurant for that day!

They were a blast to run...except in the winter when they were cold beasties. It used to snow worse inside than it was snowing outside!
And Dave, as I'm sure you know, the official name of the collector on the E-44's was a "Faiveley" collector.
They were great locomotives that I enjoyed running on the Mail trains.
