Looking for info

Hi,

I'm remembering having seen a picture with a smaller gauge what I think to recall to be 4 3/4" 2-8-0 NG locomotive, a C-16/C-19 or there about running in his backyard. But I can't find it anywhere.

I would be glad if you could help me finding the pictures i'm looking for and also all the information i can get!

Thanks!

Hi Patrik
Go to Sunday December 20 2009 on page 25. A Grand Day Out posted by jbodenmann. Is that the one your looking for? The loco is a C-16 based on Otto Mears Silverton RR Co. #100. Mostly scratch built around a few castings as are the cars. The track is a loop around My house, about 300 feet or so with a 100 ft. spur to a turntable.

Hi Jim!

Thank you very much! That was exactly the one I was looking for! Is it your locomotive? It looks so nice!

We don't have any 4 3/4" track here in europe that I'm aware off, Mostly 5" and 7 1/4" inch and some 3 1/2".

What would you say about building a C-16 in 3 1/2" gauge?

Thanks for the compliment, yes the loco is mine. I think you could build a C-16 in any scale if you can find a few castings to use. You just need to be creative, but that's what so many of us find fun about the hobby.
