NICE! Love the satin black! That's the way a locomotive should look!

Thanks Andy for the complement on the paint selection. The paint is good old Ace Hardware Satin Black in a rattle can. The thing Dale and I like is that it usually will blend in when touching up spots. After the engine was run it kind of took all the same finish. It toned down a bit and took the shine out. Gloss black is neat but boy is it hard to match up after it's first applied. I will be posting some more to this post in the near future. Off to pick up 2 new loco's today. OH Boy !!!!!!

Engine sale is on hold for a few weeks. Decieded to replace tender wheels due to flanges not being up to our standards . Plan on installing new CI wheels. Tender never derailed but we wanted to make this engine and tender bullet proof and give good service without alot of maintenance . Bob.............

Latest news on the Hudson. Finally got around to filling propane tanks tonight after last run. We used a seperate tank to fire engine. 40 minutes to 120 lbs and it used 1.2 gallons. we ran for 2 hours and that took 3 gallons of fuel. Not bad for 50 burners. We are including both a 4.6 Gal for start up and 7.6 Gal.tender tank with sale. Water keeps her from freezing up. Cab roof is ready for rattle can and rivets should be here for ladders on front of engine tomorrow. Lots to do in only a little time.
.

. The other news is Rob my son has new wheels machined up and going to mount on axles soon. Plan on running her at GGLS Fall Meet on Sept 10th and Sacramento the following weekend. Bob.......................................

I just wanted to get this back to the front again. My son Rob did most of the article and this engine. My plans are to take it to Train Mountain and see how much she will pull. For those serious about an engine this one is so easy to operate. Machine work is first class and with only 5 hours on her we have encountered NO Issues at all. The price is also right. To have one built would cost much more . We have it listed on the sell page of Chaski and also on DLS. Delivery on the west coast will be cheap. Send me a PM. Thanks Bob........

Serviceing this Hudson getting her ready for the Triennial at Train Mountain. We will be running her at Tilden within the next 2 weeks making sure all is ready. Plan on running the wheels off at TM.
