It has been awhile since we have posted anything, but we have been hard at work this summer! One of our members thought it would be nice to have a tunnel on the railroad, so we built one! We are also going to be starting our monthly run days on the 3rd Saturday of each month starting Sept. 15th.

That is a really, really awesome tunnel portal.

Aside from the monthly run days, are you planning anything special for the fall? Might be fun to come out. I'm 3 1/2 hours away.

Um. It needs more. maybe some scrub pine or something to camoflage the bump in the desert. I dont know what will grow out there, but I am used to the Midwet, where you can see the grass grow during the rain. We have trees and bumps in the land that block lines of sight, so things look more natural.

That is a good, creative way to use old RR ties. It really looks like a Western portal to me. Just needs the mountain.

We're working on getting plant life. Something besides sagebrush lol. I think there is a deal with the forest service. I heard they would supply the plant life if we planted it for free. Something to look into.

We have not posted anything in a quite some time, but for those who are interested we have made a lot of progress out at the railroad. Including now having a working transfer table.

The last two weekends we have been running for the Museums Santa Trains, this past weekend alone we had 1,235 riders on the steamers.

Are you guys running this weekend? I want to stop off on my way to Utah and see Markoff's locomotive next door. Probably Sunday.

P.S. you're now on the map! http://goo.gl/maps/p8vAo

Though not on the 45 degree view. But it's a good before/after comparison. Link goes to top down view.

Looking forward to seeing you Mike. Looks like it will be real busy again this weekend. Heard the Nevada Southern is sold out. Dan Markoff's E&P 3 footer is running like a champ.

Drive safe.
