What a builder, what an engine!
(Taken from "The Mohawk that Refused to Abdicate" - Lima's Finest, page 157). I couldn't find a better sentence to desribe the whole story in short and to express my warmest admiration!

A Mery Christmas and a lucky year 2014 to all who share our hobby!

Rust-oleum paint was used throughout; satin for the boiler jacket, hi-temp flat for the smokebox.

followed by its first (and 2nd) firing.
a few bugs to work out, but overall, a fine first outing.

Attached are some photos of Bruno Platzer's work on the tender for NKP 753.
The tender trucks and tender frame are all my parts which Bruno, of course, machined.
Those Buckeye tender trucks can really get complicated by the time all the brake rigging is applied.
The tender frame is a one-piece aluminum casting which is the only aluminum casting that I offer for the engine.
I decided to cast it in aluminum so I wouldn't need a fork lift to pick it up.

Jim,
extraordinary fine work (and parts), as usual!
The pitty is that nearly nobody will ever see and admire this fine construction again, once the locomotive stands on the rails. What about a mirror underneath one of the shed rails?

you're not kidding... all total there are close to 300 castings under the tender frame and most people will only see a small fraction of that work. here are links to some larger versions of those pictures to really see the detail.
