I am hoping to get to a PVLS meet this summer with one of my 3/4" scale locomotives.
I'm leaning towards the 60th Anniversary meet in August, and would like to know if I need to pre-register.
Also recommendations for local motels would be much appreciated.

The Canadian contingency stayed at the Elm Motel on Russell Road in Westfield, a nice place with reasonable rates. Be warned though that rooms #4, #5 & #6 may still have serious ring around their bathtubs… we was pretty durty at the end of each day.

We burned two 5 gal buckets of coal in four 3/4-inch scale engines in three days and two nights.

well, gee, we kind of like the Elm motel.....

There are many reasonable places in Westfield.
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

Hey Keith,

I think contacts will post something for those coming to visit and run, and they usually list up the local places to stay,
am sure they will be right on this once they see your post asking on it.

No pre-reg really, nice to have headcount for a rough idea on foods,..and no fees of course to come play,

This was certainly a fun meet. Here are a few snaps from the proceeings.

Allan Henry was there with his portable stationary unit.
Don on ICE.JPG
Don Ritchie, always willing to try something new, decided ice might fire better than my corn. Didn't work and the ice ended up in a bunch of glasses.
ITS LARRY.JPG
Larry King was unavailable and Larry Fine is no longer with us so Larry Micol agreed to be special gust star of the meet. Contract negotiations broke down so he didn't bring his engine.
Keith Wood 1.JPG
A real treat was seeing Keith Wood's "Spam Can" in operation. This is a truly amazing engine to see run.

A few more snaps.

Ross Grant 1.JPG
Ross Grant had his neat little 0-4-0 on the track for the meet. This would make a good project engine for a few club members.
Steve and Rocket.JPG
I think the smallest working engine at the meet was Steve with his O S Max Rocket.
Jim on Marks 2-6-0.JPG
Jim Legget had some throttle time on Mark and Sally's 2-6-0
Keith on Jims Northern.JPG
While Jim moved up to the 1" stuff, keith took over on the 3/4" 4-8-4.

On Friday it seemed that most engines had issues but all were soon sorted and running fine.
