Thanks to all (who are building fine models by themselves, too!)

Here are ome photos of the variable cutoff advice I forgot to post.
The device is hidden in / under the massive rear boiler saddle. All joints are equipt with stainless ball bearings of size 3x8x4 mm (out of electronic blowers from surplus). Thus those lots of joints do not add any backlash to the reach rods (which got double ball bearings throughout, too).
Wish that all this will work as intended when the A is going upgrade under steam! If not - no mess, still as if there were no such device in neutral position.

Hi Mr "A" Genius,

one more big strike of you "A", the variable cutoff is such an awesome
piece of enineering art. It looks so simple , but i know of your problems, realy a great
Solution. Im looking forward to Dortmund in April, so we can make a few pictures when the "A" is next to
the "Y6b". Power further so !!!

All the best , Chris

Hi Jim

on April the 9th-13th we have a big fair in Dortmund.

Its called "Intermodellbau", there are a lot of plains, Locomtives in every sice and every Gauge.
There are vessels, cars, trucks and stuff like this.
The attached video shows our area in the six big halls.

Have fun.....

A tubing offset in a curve 067red.jpg
Hello,
Time to post some more photos of my recent progress with the A.
Smokebox, both inside and outside tubing including joints, the double stack and exaust pipes including blowers are done. So are the superheaters, too.
No kidding: The prototype A 1239 once got some modifications (tuning!) to better fight the diesels back in 1952. Thus, why not adding a smarter double stack (which could have been)? The Challenger has, the H 8 as well ...
Still a lot of rivets, bolts and covers and the smokebox door too will be necessary to complete the front end of the boiler yet.

Best regards
Asteamhead

Hello friends,
Some more photos of some details, which might be of interest to other modelers.
I want to share my solutions for both superheater assembly and the adjustable blower with others who intend or began already building steam locomotives.

best regards

Hello my friends,
Time to report some progress achived during the last months.
The tender body has been almost finished now. This fine job was fullfiled by my compagnions steamchris and his father. The tender is quite similar to that of their class Y6b. Next step will be construction of two pairs of the special comonwealth trucks used for both class J and the last batch of class A 1238 - 1242.
The smokebox containing all that tubing, rivets and such has been almost finished, too. The Nathan (twin) lubricators are under construction. The first one is working fine despite it's small size.

Hi Guys,

it was a pleasure to built this Tender for Asteamhead.
But i think nothing beats a friendship of people with the same
hobby. Im looking forward to the Day the Tender and your A
coming together the first time.
Asteamhead you should post some pictures of your smokebox.
It looks so amazing! !!

All the best out there.
