Jack
Nice work

What kind of connection will you have between the engine and tender for electric?

Hello My Friends
The electrical connection is a 4 pin audio plug. Here is the latest photo.

No dummies here - Just functionally challenged!!

Jack and Mike,

Talk about beefy. This is an absolutely gorgeous 4-6-4, all thanks to Mike putting new tooling and Jack turning it into a piece of art. It will look amazing next to its 4-8-4 Counterpart. Would love to see a video of this beast in action!! Keep on Steamin' my friend!!

Hello My Friends
Thank you for the compliments concerning the Hudson. The Hudson was steamed up the other day and all went well. Only one small leak, a 5/16"-40 plug in one of the Wilson blow downs needed a bit of attention. Sleepless nights often precede the first steam up of a complicated engine like this, and the fact that it went so well was a great relief. Mike V and Paul K picked the engine up today and it is on it's way Texas for test running. This was a most enjoyable project, and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to finish this beautiful locomotive. I have to thank Mike Venezia for having the patience and confidence in me to finish his engine. I say finish because I didn't build the running gear or boiler, just some sheet metal, plumbing, and little baloney. Much was learned about Lackawanna Hudsons, which I never even knew existed before this project. They were large powerful engines that would effortlessly pull a long string of heavyweights. Hopefully this engine will do the same. So here are a few final photos taken this morning.
See you in the funny pages..
Jack

Mike (& Jack) BEAUTIFUL engine!

would you care to comment on the tie downs?
- tender, front foot peg & rear truck?
- one strap on the tender
- three bars through the drivers

Thanks
Dave
