Just got the latest issue and there is a great article on the 2012 Triennial at Train Mountain. A ton of really nice pictures and a very nice write up. Russ

I did the photos and editor Neil Kopf wrote the article. He did a great job of telling it from the perspective of someone who has not been there before. I hope that it inspires others to come to the next one. A great time was had as always. I brought two people from New Zealand with me and two more travelling on their own joined us.

Story behind the cover photo:

It had been my goal for a while to put a young person on the cover of live steam, in the hopes of attracting new blood to the hobby. Ellie was the perfect candidate and her family went along readily with the idea. So I spent a few hours on Sunday morning when the track was empty photographing Ellie running her father's Mogul. Ellie has a Mogul of her own but it was not quite running by the meet. She has also been seen frequently running her dad's MichiCal shay.

There were many good shots, but the one that made it onto the cover was the one where she is perfectly framed in the large gantry signal tower at grande junction.

Mike:
Yes, that cover is one of the best Live Steam covers ever. It really sums up what it's all about. Well done.
