sources for drawings and blueprints
Re: sources for drawings and blueprints
You show N&W on your post, which I assume means that you are aware that the N&W Historical Society has an extensive list of drawings available at:

The C&O Historical Society (COHS) has drawings.hwboivin3 wrote:Anyone know if there are blueprints available from C&O?

Roger Goldmann/Live Steam Locomotives has some drawings for the C&O 2-6-6-6 and 2-10-4. The drawings Roger has, he got from Truson Beugel. Truson also had drawings for the C&O 2-8-4, but they are not listed on Live Steam Locomotive website.
If a C&O loco was made by Lima, the California State Railroad Museum may have some drawings related to it in their collection.

Re: sources for drawings and blueprints
The full set of drawings for both locomotives at Promontory Utah, the "Jupiter" and #119, are available for download here:
http://ibls.org/mediawiki/index.php?tit ... ocomotives
There are 700+ pages of drawings. They were drawn by O'Connor Engineerig back in the late 1970's, who subsequently built both locomotives.
Enjoy,
Daris

Re: sources for drawings and blueprints
I have Truson's drawings for the NKP, C&O and RF&P 2-8-4's.
In my own collection I have the erecting drawings for all the Lima NKP Berkshires and many detail drawings for all classes of NKP steam.

You told me the other night you had Truson's NKP 2-8-4 drawings.... But not the others. Did you get dupes made of Truson's drawings that Roger got of the C&O tender trucks that applied to the Kanawha? These Kanawha truck drawings also were for the Allegheny's.

Re: sources for drawings and blueprints
In Canada,
The Canada Science and Technology Museum, Ottawa, has all of the CPR steam locomotive drawings. Go to their website hit Contact Us and send an email of what you are looking for to the Director, Land Transportation Section. When I was in touch with them, they were most helpful and their copying charges for blueprint drawings were reasonable but things may have changed since.
The Canadian Railway Museum in Delson/Saint-Constant Quebec has most of the CNR steam locomotive drawings. Go to their website then hit Archives Center, Contact the Archivist and send an email of what you are looking for.
But beware, they are expensive if you want to copy any of their blueprint drawings and they don't have anything on CD. And they couldn't find what I was looking for for over a year due to their creative filing system (at the time). And if they have to conduct a search because of this, that will cost you as well. Yes, I am complaining.
For Western Canada for many of the western CNR steam locomotives contact Paul Winslow of the Red River Valley Railroad, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Go to the Red River Valley Railroad web site and ask for Paul and what they have available. I have never ordered anything from them but Paul, at the time I was in touch with him, indicated their blueprint copying costs would be reasonable.
