Are there going to be plans sold, or will it be serialized in a magazine?

Any construction pictures yet?

We will begin building a few of these next winter.

A magazine has contacted me about writing some articles focusing on 3/4-inch scale live steam and this loco could possibly be serialized. Unfortunately this is my busy season and I have not been able to pursue this at this time.

We are just letting the community know about the engine to gauge the interest.
Best regards,
Jim Leggett

Hi Jim,
I am Russ Major a member of HEANS...Heat engine assoc. of Nova Scotia. I was an associate member of MLS back in the early 90's and visited your track on 3 or 4 occasions. I became quite friendly with Bob Canavan and bought a set of the castings for the Old Sydney Collieries loco. Work and family meant that the castings were stored until now and I intend to start work on them after completion of my current loco (0-4-0 switcher in 7 1/4 gauge) Unfortunately, I never paid much attention to the drawings at that time and find that they are incomplete to say the least. Has this been built by anyone else in the club or do you have drawings? Your pictures and drawings in Home Machinist were very good and the old loco in Delsen has been repainted since my last visit.
I will attach a couple of photos of Bob and his loco. Incidently, the young fellow behind Bob (Red cap) is my son Peter...Now 39 years young!
Best wishes,
Russ Major

I just came across the issue. Modeltec June 1986, pages 6-11.

Work on OSC #25 is progressing well and if it wasn't for Covid 19 should have seen the track this year. Maybe next year all being well.

Nice locomotive.
One of the first 7.5" gauge steamers I got to run was a Columbia (2-4-0) at the BCSME track in Vancouver, BC, Canada, eh.
They remain a favorite of mine for they portability and functionality.
Please keep us informed on your progress getting on the rails.

That engine most likely belonged to Ernie Allen (deceased).

Yes. It was Ernie himself who made sure I would operate his locomotive.
It may have been operated by more people than any other locomotive around!
A truly generous individual.

Cool looking loco. I particularly like the small industrial locos. This would be a neat build.
