I have a old Bridgeport CNC Mill with a R2E4 Boss 9 CNC and having trouble getting it to run. The error message indicates a V-Ram problem. Where can I get the boards Checked? Is there a conversion available? Would it be cheaper to convert to a different system?
Thanks
hbob

well you could see if you could find the "Vram"
chip and remove it and take a photo of it
(then post it on photo bucket or somthing and put a link here)
because it may be some old pc ram that i may have or somthing

also if there is more than one try removing one (but leaveone in the 0 slot
Just thinking out loud

Good luck...all the folks that built / repaired those things at BP have been scattered to the winds.

I took a fire axe to my control cables and installed a FAGOR years ago and never looked back.

There are many other good conversions out now, many of which run on a PC (which I specifically didn't want at the time), that may be much more cost effective.

GOOGLE 'BRIDGEPORT BOSS REPAIRS' and you will see folks that are listed to fix these things.

Finding the chip by 'name' is tough. BP used to scratch names off the chips so that they couldn't be identified unless you really knew what you were doing. FANUC does the same thing.
