I'm fighting a fault on a GEC Gemdrive MK2 Axis Controller (DC Servo Amplifier) - the particular variant I have is the 90 amp version.

I would welcome contact with anyone who has worked on these servo amps or has any technical information or (dare I even hope) any circuit diagrams.

Ken,

Many thanks for all those links, I apprecate your taking the time. Sadly Google had revealed all of them to me previously. There is also another uk based repairer (DNC) - however they quote telephone numbers as the price of a repair, hence seeking technical information, preferably circuits, rather than a repairer.

Well it must be my lucky day. I managed to buy a complete GEC GEM servo crate with the correct PSU and two 45 amp servo axis controllers via eBay, which although too small for my faulty 90 amp spindle servo got me turning again, and also gave me the confidence to dive into the electronics of the faulty unit. All the power transistors in the 'H' bridge were fine surprisingly, but I found an on board self oscillating converter that supplied isolated supplies to the 'H' bridge drivers had failed with two s/c T03 transistors, blowing a bit of pcb track in the process. A bit of soldering later and wahay - we're back in business!
