Hello gents. I am looking for a copy of the plans for the riding car seen here:

http://www.discoverlivesteam.com/magazine/78.html

It was originally found in the January/February 2005 issue of Live Steam & Outdoor Railroading.

I'd be "much obliged" as they say...

Thanks

Chris

You can get reprints of back issues from LS&ORR without any problems. All you have do to is ask.

I think what Bill means is that you can get reprints of back issues if you ask LS&ORR magazine's customer service department, NOT ask here on this board.

Since that issue is so new it is probably available as a back issue from them. They can certainly photocopy the pages for you for a couple of bucks. EBay frequently has back issues, too. Why not try one of these ideas? That way, everyone wins.

Yeah, I have been watching his site because his GWR 0-4-2 "Dart" is a favorite of mine. It is on my list of engines to "get to" someday.

Sometimes the simplest answer flies right by me. LOL

Thanks!

No problem. I have purchased back issues AND reprints from them, and they are very helpful.

I wasn't clearer.

In the publishing world, the term 'reprints' almost always means 'from the original publisher'.

'copies' usually means from another source.

Clover was always helpful getting me reprints, sometimes going back 20+ years.

I have no reason to belive that the current editor won't be as helpful.

Bill and the rest are right on. I know Live Steam has a full set of issues that they can copy from if they don't have originals that they can sell you. (I know they do because I sent Clover the missing issues from the mimeograph days to fill their collection.)

Just ask. It is worth it not only to have good original copies or the original itself, but that you are helping support a worthwhile publication that helps get information out to our hobby.

I was using "Back Issues" to represent complete magazines, and "reprints" to mean black & white photocopies of articles.
