Got this idea from a freind of mine,made from 1/2x2" flatbar :lol:
BTW I didn't paint this Southbend,it was like this when I bought it,LOL!

Yep, been doing that for years only I use a mag base on the flat bar and I use a heavier bar so it don't move easily.
It's only ink and paper.

While learning to cut dovetails I made a QCTP tool holder from aluminum for practice. It came out well but I didn't think it practical for holding tools so I put a DTI on it. Turns out to be one of the most used tool holders in my shop. The clamps are copies of Starrett's.

From that color the lathe may have come from Scotland. :-)

I can just put the mag base on my ways. I have an Atlas with flat ways.

At least there's ONE advantage of flat ways :-)

Looks much like the one I made, John. Plunger type mounted to the broad side of holder, and a 90 degree angle 1/4" rod mounted on top for my Last Word.

Can't imagine ever finding anything easier or faster to center work in a 4-jaw.
