I am trying to build Bill Shields 1-1/2” VanBrocklin Duplex pump. I have been able to draw and machine everything except for the Steam Head. I am having an impossible time understanding the layout of all of the steam passages. I have spent hours trying to draw in SolidWorks but for some reason I am just not visualizing the plans correctly. Any suggestions or drawings that may lift the fog in my head. Better yet, does anyone have a CAD drawing of the part that I could use?
Thanks,
Todd

UK LocoNut,
Thanks so much for the drawing and the picture you posted. That picture was perfect, it cleared everything up. It is so simple now that I see it.
Thanks,
Todd

Re: VanBrocklin Duplex pump
All you have to do is ask. Aren't my CAD drawings clear? I make one separate drawing for each port, showing it's snake through the head.
Be careful
I don't do my ports exactly as Bill Van did, so another person's files may not line up with the rest of my pump. The attached looks like one of my files, but I don't have them with me to be totally sure.
If you want a solidworks file for the head, I can send it to you assuming you can read V2010.
I also have photos of a recent head I built with colored wires sticking out of the ports.
Let me know.
Will be back in the USA on Tuesday and can send to an e-mail at that time.

Too many things going on to bother listing them.

Bill,
Thanks. I am not sure why I was having such a hard time following it. Once I saw the color coded image by UKlocoNut, it suddenly made sense, just one of those brain farts I guess. A Solidworks file would be great if you don’t mind, I should be able to read the latest version. I will PM you my email address.
Thanks again for all of the hard work on this project.

TDukes: Thanks for having the courage to ask. I've been puzzling over the LBSC duplex drawings and Bill's for over a year now and it's all just starting to make sense and the solidworks drawing is very helpful. It's intimidating to the lesser endowed of us out there. I eventually get it, it just takes a little longer.
