Harold,

Good point on the sleeve, it should not be difficult to do that, but after looking at the quill I believe it would have too much movement as you suspected.
I think it would only work if I did use the outboard arm and tied it to the mills dovetail with some type of adapter. But that puts me into using a horizontal arbor setup and wouldn't allow the use of end mills or drills, which is what I really was wanting to do.

It justs looks to be more trouble than it's worth, since I can rotate the head of the mill to 90 degrees now, I was thinking it would be nice to avoid having to re-tram the head, but this is sounding like it's less trouble than adapting the right angle head would be for the few times I expect to need the capability.

Thanks again
Terry

Terry unless you plan on mounting big parts on the mill couldn't you get a large cast angle plate and mount the parts on it?

Pete,

You are absolutely right as long as the part size allows it, and I have done that with some small stuff. The biggest angle plate I have is only 6", but it works, and I certainly could get a larger one. I suppose the main reason I was considering it, it would be another neat thing to play with.
