clishay

Post by drifter »

Hi.im john,i live in the uk,ive recently seen photos of a clishay, this looks like a relativly easy loco to make ,and a pretty good start in the larger gauges.(i currently have a 3 1/2 inch gauge bantom cock),the trouble is i cant find any live steam magazines over here.so i was wondering if any of your gentlemen have the relavant copies of the magazine you could sell to me,of course i understand that you may not want to break up your collection of magazines,so if one of you would be so kind as to scan and e mail me the articles i would be most gratefull.(the articles are in live steam nov 77 to aug 79)i know this will involve a fair bit of your time ,but im running out of options now and would dearly love to make this loco.

yours in anticipation

Hello
This design started in the Live Steam Dec 1977 issue and ran thru Aug 1979 and is approx 100 pages in length. This design was then modified by Ed Warren who wanted to go faster than a Shay. Ed built a replacement all steel boiler which appeared in Modeltec March 1984. Then he regeared the drive train 1:1 and increased the bore to 2" by redesigning the engine which appeared in Modeltec starting June/July 2000.

I happen to have the orginal article scanned and on file. It is about 106,000 kb. Fits nicely on a disk. Willing to mail it to England. I am not sure how you can securely provide your address to me.

The PM (private message) feature of this forum is exactly that---private. No one has access to personal messages aside from the recipient.

David,

I'd be interested in a copy of the files you were talking about. A PM was sent.

Thanks,

Model railroading is fun but the work expands proportionately to the track gauge.
