I think I prefer to live in denial. Thank you for making me more comfortable with it.

The Fusion 360 suggestion seems to be a winner. I can already make stuff about as easily as I did in Alibre (not saying a hell of a lot).

Looks more like a rogut retainer for a cragameter to me.

Are you accusing me of industrial espionage?

OK...I bite...what is the Chinese word for 'patent'?
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

Same phrase they use for "toilet paper."

I believe it's "I think I'll make and sell those things."Bill Shields wrote:OK...I bite...what is the Chinese word for 'patent'?

Re: Still Fighting With CAD
I am making pretty good progress. This program seems less insane than Alibre. There are a few bugs in the drawing I made today, but it works.

Interesting.SteveHGraham wrote:I started getting back into CAD this week, and I decided to resolve my issues with getting drawings done and sent off to CAM.
I bought Dolphin CAD and CAM, but I was never able to make 3D parts the way Alibre made them. I still have no idea how to rotate parts in 3 dimensions. I don't think Dolphin will let you do it, except in Partmaster 3D, which is just a viewer and exporter with no CAD functions.
I hate to spend more money, but I am fed up with Dolphin's CAD interface. Wondering if there is anything else out there, for nothing or very little, that will do what Geomagic will do, without a crappy interface.
Dolphin isn't a 3D program (it's 2.5D), Why would you think it would produce 3D assemblies?
I find it quite acceptable for what it is and it's price point. Once you get past it's English (vice American) vocabulary it's rather quick to use. JMHO.
YMMV
