Ralph, Part number 1466N2.
1/2" thick X 3/4" wide with adhesive backing. Comes in a 36" roll.
Catolog # 122, page 3586.
If you look that up in the catolog or online you will find different sizes that are available.
Make sure you get the adhesive backing.

Finally finished painting this beast. Time to put a fire in the girl for the first time and see where all my leaks are.

Putting fire to Northern for the first time.To get the most crap out of the boiler I put in 3 cheap safety valves and fired her up 3 different times. First time I pulled the fire at 60 lbs. then 90 lbs. and then 150 lbs. and blew her down each time. I found from experience the safteys get clogged with junk on the first firings. Now I put in Superscale safteys because I think most of the boiler debrie is out.

Hello Paul,
Congratulations! Your cab looks like a 'home cabin', ready to run! Just in time as a big christmas present.
Best luck to you and your engine!

This video is of my 1690 Northern in Florida last week. The Northern 1637 I just finished has not seen a video camera yet.

Finally got around to posting the first time on the railroad. This is Nick Edward's Wimberley Tx railroad.Nick is in the first picture.
The locomotive is a Beast ! We blew her down and the next day Bob Hornsby lettered her. The man is an artist ! I left the lettering to the master.
This is Bob at Thanksgivin, and Nick at the Keisers .

Shortly I'm off to Florida for the winter meets. Always, A GREAT time of trains and fellowship with friends.
When I get back to the Keiser shops in March I'm going to drag in Mike's Northern and gaudy it up a bit with detail.
Example to follow of my 1690 Northern. I study pictures and then draw stuff out and then make it.
