David Moore has 1.5" scale Franklin butterfly style (16"x20" prototype) firedoor. The castings are scale and are lost wax.

Re: oil fire box door for 1 1/2" loco
The butterfly doors are for coal. There are at least three types of doors for oil fired locos.
There was an oblong job that sat vertically with a damper at the bottom, the SP type Donald (SP14443's) dad made castings for and a Santa Fe type that had a round plate and cross brace that hinged from the right. The latter two did not have integral dampers. The common thing about all three is they all had small round holes one could peep in to see the fire color.
Other than Donald's I thought I remember Railroad Supply selling one. Surely if Chet ran oil he would have had a proper fire door on his locos. Ah. B-5155. Maybe someone has a photo, and Steve can advise if the castings are available?

Well. Guess I left the page without posting.
I had Donald's username wrong.
It's GS14403. I suspect you could PM him.
Chris, the "flat" styles typically had a damper in the bottom of the fire pan below the rear sheet. Santa Fe in particular had a lever next to the firing valves to open and close it by raising or lowering.
Take care,
Brian

because i used a baffle plate. the loco will tend to "howl" when pulling hard (at or near full throttle). the howling goes away by opening the door.
so the idea. with using a weighted damper door, this heavy draft will pull the damper open when its needing the extra draft.
with careful design, I believe i can run a pilot light assembly through this opening
plus i want to lost that giant allen models door

Yep, I haven't called and spent some phone time with Marty yet, but an thinking maybe he can build one with a round hole instead of square?
I suspect he'll do about anything if you throw enough Presidents at him...
