small scale fittings

Post by jeffsmith »

Where can a modeler purchase small scale pipe fittings and unions. 1/8"-3/16" sizes.
Has anyone taken over Coles or American Model?

American Model is still in operation under new ownership. Wayne Godshall in Pennsylvania has taken it over.

Eccentric Engineer makes some great ones. But only down to 3/16" I will be in the market for some 1/8" and 5/32" fittings myself. Maybe we can get Anthony to do the smaller ones at some point. He is making the 2/3rds size injector for the 1" scale locomotives.

PM Research has 3/16. Otherwise, you might have to go to the UK for smaller ones. Steamfittings.co.uk has a few in 1/8 and 5/32 for instance, and there are probably other suppliers as well.

Jeff, as mentioned before, Eccentric Engineer makes fittings down to 3/16, Live Steam Warehouse makes fittings 1/16 thru 5/16. I have seen both manufacturers fittings in person. They are of very good quality and appearance. American Model Engineering advertises MTP unions in their catalog. Attached are their web links below.

I do plan on adding 1/8" fittings to the line next time I send off waxes. The next round of castings will also include reducing elbows and reducing couplings.

Estimating February at the moment.
