With a little tender loving care, I think that roast could be made well again.
Looks good, Steve.

Hi There,
I see that so far, no one answered why Santa would
bring coal to bad little girls and boys. To understand
why it was coal, one has to realize that this "tradition"
was started back in the 19th century in Europe and at
that time, the most common fuel was coal. So, if you
were bad, you didn't get sweets or toys but you got
something that would keep you warm.
Good Luck!

Who was dreaming of a White Christmas? Here's what it looked like here this morning.
Whoever it is....they need to be slapped around a bit.
Nice to look at....but not if ya gotta get any on ya....which I did.
Glad I had help for a change!
Merry Christmas!

68, clear skies and sunny here in southern Portugal.
But we have a serious drought, so if Santa had delivered a massive rain, that would have been even better.

A local grocery was selling rib roasts for $5/pound. There was no way to NOT buy one.
No kidding!
We had a yummy lamb shank, here!

Heh! Much as I like prime rib, this Greek boy loves lamb, and that's exactly what my bride cooked for us. It has become our tradition on Christmas Eve. Leg of lamb, and a shank, which is the best meat on the critter.
Asparagus. Some people have too much money. I love the stuff, but only in season. Social Security goes only so far.

We have had several of the $5/lb roast sales locally. Take a 18-20lb roast, cut at the ribs, and you have a nice stack of really good steaks for later in the year. Days are past when we would eat one each, now one steak does both of us and sometimes even makes a second meal. A roast is just a block of raw material, just got to imagine the options!
