Practical use for 303 stainless drops

I picked up a mixed bag of 303 SS drops a while back.

Had problems yesterday with napkins and tablecloths blowing away.

Only problem was a I had to explain why all the blocks were marked 303.

That's funny! Just yesterday, I was in the shop and my son walks through and says, "Dad, you have a lot of pieces of metal being used as paperweights out here!" 'Tis true! I have drawings at the lathe, by the mill, by the drill press, on the welding bench, and a couple of fans to keep the place comfortable, so it's either put the drawings away, or find something to keep them from blowing away.

Only problem was a I had to explain why all the blocks were marked 303.

It looks like they are marked with a Sharpie. Why not take some IPA to the cut-offs to remove the marks?

Keep them marked, never know when You might get different material. Nothing quite as surprising as "mystery metal."

Yes, especially considering that alloys of stainless go from "joy to machine" to "metal from hell".
