The seller appears a little optimistic with his prices. Add up all of the bits and for that price you could buy a running locomotive.

This does not make sense at all just put it together and you would have a running locomotive or at least this is how it appears.

Yeah, lousy way to sell a loco. He's used to selling Lionel where if you don't get that one, you can get another...

maybe somebody should send him an e-mail and ask how much for the total engine.

Re: 3/4 Yankee Shop Atlantic - in Pieces
I had asked him for a price for the whole package. He responded with $2800.

it is all runs and the only problem is the boiler,....a somewhat reasonable price.

The tender pricing actually looks half decent, but in looking at the photos it sure looks like the bottom of the tank is wood. Seems rather old school, perhaps helps date when the locomotive was built.

nothing wrong with wood tenders. Several of the Purinton / BvB all wood tenders are still in service 50+ years later.

In looking at the pictures....I think the tender tank is just sitting on a wooden base.

This guy went to alot of trouble to RIP this loco apart and clean everything. It's not the first one he's DC one this to,and he seems to find well made subjects for his Frankenstein approach to live steam. A part from here ,a part from there and presto ...live steam locomotive. I sent a message to him stating these are all individual locomotives, even built from the same plans, parts are not interchangable. A few have tried to preserve the old equipment ,but with his approach , just take them all apart and throw it all in one box. Very sad .
