Thanks for that. I had the pleasure of visiting Gene at his home shop and also of running his American. He was a true gentleman. Humanity needs more like him.

The single-cam factory engine is now in my possession thanks to the generosity of Gene's son and daughter in law. It is a beautiful model that I will cherish always.

Gene was a true gentleman and one heck of a craftsman. Not many like him then or now.
There aren't many folks around who knew that Gene was the Chief Engineer on the WWII victory ship S.S. Lane Victory moored in Long Beach, CA and was deeply involved in the restoration of that ship's engines.
